On a whim to show how easy it is to create a  story through sensory impressions( Shena Mackay a great example for students in The Orchard on Fire) I wondered why a car might smell of jelly babies and the feelings associated with a parents' love of red jelly babies in particular, Such a love 'fed' on the knowledge that red jelly babies always less numerous than green or yellow ones...AND not only are there issues around eating jelly babies at 80mph there may be issues around finding them in the first place...

AND yet...eating jelly babies is rather more about memory than digestion...each red jellly baby conjures up...literally ...a great grandmother..long dead, inhabitant of huge isolated house in rural India where packets of jelly babies would arrive once a month ....the joy of the red jelly baby treasured ...

And Grandmother DOES like driving in fast cars. Such an outing for her and so much more to see....

I think I may write a story about this..perhaps I already have...

 Once again I have to applaud Mrs Timberlake's fabulous house of scents on Ebay. The perfume below arrived late last week and is truly captivating. Hyperboles are useful when encountering smells capable of transforming a mood and lifting the pedestrian into something personal and beguilingly resonant.

This scent reminds me of summer, of hot white sand and then unsurprisingly, of the shock of blue surf! Perfumes are  great anchors as they have both an instanteous impact as well as a lingering one. They somehow 'protect' you and can make you feel invincible. I have always tended to wear perfume as a veil. It makes me feel very present yet also safe.

Layering scent is a delicious pleasure and one easily enjoyed through Mrs Timerlake' shop!

People notice smells. A simple but powerful truth. We are aware of the presence of smell everywhere and it operates upon mind and body simultaneously.

This perfume is a perfect treat!

After twenty months of intensive NLP training,  I can hold my hand in the air ( hallelujah!) and testify to the biggest revelation for me:  that changing states through anchoring or language shifts MAKES MY  WORLD A BETTER PLACE!

Reactive behaviour may still at times linger about the margins..a slight sense of sea sickness overcomes me momentarily whilst I think of Captain Ahab and Moby Dick.. I am not , not even any way near 'perfectly' attuned....YET...and this is a TRANSFORMATIVE YET,  I  now recognise that I CAN CHOOSE my reaction. I can FIND a state which alters my mood.

In So many sessions I realised my head was lifting higher , my breathing deepening and my spirit LIFTING. LIGHTENING even. Just LIFT UP YOUR HEAD- TILT YOUR CHIN AND BREATHE DEEPLY....it makes a tremendous difference.
