Tusi-bites with Alison Ridyard: Katherine Mansfield' The Doll's House.

I have read The Doll’s house. It’s one of my favourites.  I love its timelessness – haven’t we all been told of children we aren’t to play with because of their less than desirable family background? – I know I have – and felt guilty too … and sad for the children who suffer because of circumstances out of their control.  Kezia’s willingness to risk her own happiness  for the sake of “our Else and Lil’s” is very moving – as are the final moments in the story – when having quickly forgotten Aunt Beryl’s wrath – our Else “smiled her rare smile” and marvelled, “I seen the little lamp”.
