Swiveller

Swiveller sat in silence. Her head was dancing inside with the side-long glimpse of the creature again. Why were the visits becoming so close, so near? This time she had nearly touched it from the window and there was no pulling back, no flinching or expectation of betrayal. It was waiting for her move.  Next time she would and the thing would begin. Two pieces of peat brown bread and this dark coffee and then she would leave. Going out with jess always held this freedom for her; there were safe spaces between their words  and she dwelt on the new meeting and Jess did not ask. Somewhere in the kitchen a caramel voiced singer demanded that they kiss his name. How appropiate. One day everyone would, but today no one knew and the secret had to hide a while longer, inked where only a soul creature would find.
