Today the young blackbird I’d scooped off the patio, panting, motionless head down on the paving, took an initially faltering return into the world as good as new! Last night I thought it might have a broken wing, left it in a box with tissue in the garage over night and this morning we were communicating semi-tunefully to establish contact, life resurgent!
The bird had left its box and was hiding in the garage..hopped into view, blinking and appeared in good shape, just anxious. Through the open door it gradually gathered enough confidence and courage to hop out into the garden and find its ecstatic mother. Life is a blessing in all its forms; surely the courage and confidence to face life again is as vital as the blood coursing through every living thing.
Confidence is life.
