Living with autism by Lorraine Farrimond

So Many routines and rituals bring you comfort.
Yet they throw the world of others into chaos .
Everything is black and white.
Right or wrong.

You are protected in your world by your thoughts
A world few can comprehend
and one you can’t even extend.

Emotional destruction is all around
yet you see none.
Friendships corroded.
Poverty a way of life.
A family denied.

Guilt and wondering are experienced daily.
There is no one to blame.

We try our best.
But will our conscious let us rest.
Yet in all of this there is a sense of privilege and pride.
A Gift. One we haven’t yet been denied.
