Great new film telling of the important part, now shamefully forgotten, played by fish in securing victory in the First World War.
Fish worked in intelligence gathering and tank sabotage, and used to offer cigarettes to Germans to bring on coughing fits which would give away their whereabouts in the dark. No fish where decorated during or after the war, as they are very modest creatures, and refuse all honours.
Asked about their motivation, Field Bream Bernie Fromage said ‘ A fish’s courage is often unfairly maligned. We wanted to show we can do other things apart from swim. Not that I wish to denigrate swimming, but it’d not all we’re capable of. My wife has just written a one million word novel set in the Napoleonic wars, which revels that Bonaparte was actually a very ambitious herring from Norway.’
