A fabulous poem: it reveals love as symbiosis, as true acknowledgement. It concerns essences and the ‘unromantic’ unconditional certainty that love endures behind surfaces, behind convention, behind aesthetic appeal. It is a ‘beyondness’ that endures between the ‘shadow and the soul’..truly the ‘fifth element’!!!
( and the Goya picture surely matches the poem..she has a magnificent shadow and a soul ? An assurance about her being and psychical potency that had transcended time…ours and hers?)
