All About My mother – Pedro Almodovar

All About My Mother

(Todo Sobre Mi Madre)

A sensational film. The past is only ever finished, never finished with! Like the wonderful ‘Volver’ this film suggests that nothing is beyond reconciliation, nothing is irrevocably ruinous. Almovodar is the Amy Bloom of the cinema. Seemingly scandalous juxtapostions abound but are never judged. His humanity is palpable. Intensely emotional, wry and playful, this celebrates women, and shows that compassion can help heal even the most bleak experience. A  fabulous way to spend two hours.
